Founded in 2025 by Dan Colbeck, Toyon Land Design is the culmination of Dan's 25-year career practicing landscape architecture. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty and strong sense of community in Ojai, Dan brings a deep love for the outdoors to every project. This new firm is built upon extensive experience gained as a principal at Pamela Burton and Company, where Dan developed expertise in a wide variety of project scales and types, including complex projects such as courthouses, embassies, universities, corporate campuses, and large residential estates. At the core of the practice is a commitment to designing landscapes that are appropriate to the site context, ensuring they are both beautiful and integrated seamlessly with their surroundings.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Connecticut.  He is a Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California (LA#5348) and an ISA Certified Arborist (WE-15993A).
